Externship Opportunities

Ascension Macomb Hospital's OMFS residency program offers one week externship opportunities.  To be considered for an externship, students should be a registered 3rd or 4th year dental student in good standing from an accredited school in the United States.    

Externship weeks are offered as Monday-Friday or Monday-Sunday.

The objectives of the externship are to:

1) Provide the dental student with an understanding of the broad scope of the specialty.
2) Provide the dental student experience in office-based dentoalveolar procedures.
3) Provide the opportunity to evaluate the OMFS residency program at Ascension Macomb Hospital.

Students are expected to participate on morning rounds, participate in supervised OR and clinic cases, attend resident didactics,  and observe trauma patients in the emergency department. 

Externships are NOT offered during the last two weeks of June and the first two weeks of July.
