National Resident Matching Program
For residency program consideration interested applicants should register in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). The NRMP uses computers to match students and hospitals according to the students preferences. For additional information about NRMP, contact:

Appointments
AMOH provides one year residency appointments which begins the last week of June each year. Annual renews are contingent upon residents satisfactory performance, upon successful completion of training requirements outlined by the specific American Board, Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital renew resident appointments.
Those entering PGY1 in all programs are required to obtain AHA ACLS and BLS certification prior to assuming duties July 01 of the academic year. Ascension Macomb-Oakland offers ACLS certification free of charge, however you must obtain your BLS certification in order to take the ACLS course.
Flu Shots
Licensure
All residents and fellows are required to obtain an educational license to practice medicine by the State of Michigan. All residents must obtain licensure by July 01 of the academic year. Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital Graduate Medical Education will provide residents and fellows with the appropriate application. AMOH reimburse residents and fellows for the cost of the licensing. Educational License are renewable up to five times.
Visa Policy
As of August 05, 2022, Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital accepts ECFMG sponsored J-1 Visas for residency/fellowship.
