Application Process

Thank you for your interest in Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program. We are currently conducting only virtual interviews at this time. 

All candidates interested in our program must submit an application through Electronic Residency Application Service, ERAS. Applications are not considered unless submitted through ERAS. Applications meeting program requirements are reviewed by our program selection committee.

You are required to include the following in your ERAS application:

• Medical School Transcript
• Dean's Letter
• 3 Letters of Recommendation (1-2 preferably by an Internal Medicine attending, Program Director, or Chair)
• Personal Statement
• COMLEX or USMLE Scores

Candidates selected for an interview are notified via email and requested to schedule an interview date. Interviews are held between November and January.

Our interview day usually consists of multiple individual interviews with our Program Director and the interview selection committee. We recommend candidates review all materials sent about our program prior to interview day. 

Please note candidates must take COMLEX Level 1, Level 2 CE & PE or USMLE Step 1, Step 2, CS & CK prior to graduating from medical school, with proper documentation submitted to our program.
