Hematology and Medical Oncology

Thank you for your interest in the Hematology & Medical Oncology training program at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital (AMOH). Our three-year training program is designed to provide fellows with a comprehensive training in all clinical aspects of Hematology and Medical Oncology.  We are excited to announce we received initial ACGME accreditation, January 2021 with our goal set to become a fully accredited program.

Our Mission

Under the direction of Dr. Tarik Hadid, our program's mission is to create a nurturing environment for our Fellow in a multidisciplinary setting necessary to gain expertise as a Hematologist and Oncologist.  Upon completion graduates of our program are prepared to site for board certification in Hematology and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and go into the autonomous practice of Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Our Program

Fellows rotate through both inpatient and outpatient services to gain clinical training in all areas of Hematology and Medical Oncology. Fellows will become experts in diagnosing and managing benign and malignant hematology and solid tumor cases. Fellow gain knowledge in Hematopathology, Neuro-Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplantation, and Transfusion Medicine. Fellow are required to engage in scholarly activity during their dedicated research time. Fellows and Faculty participate in weekly and monthly didactics including journal club, grand rounds, case conferences, tumor board, and program and institution committees for education and professional purposes.
