Ascension NE Wisconsin Hospital – St. Elizabeth Campus PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program

Ascension NE Wisconsin-St. Elizabeth Hospital is a medium-sized community hospital in Appleton, WI, a vibrant city located in the heart of the larger Fox Cities area of Wisconsin.  The hospital serves Appleton and the surrounding communities by providing wide-ranging services for all age groups that surpass what is typically expected of a hospital of its size.  Examples of these services include comprehensive cardiovascular care including open heart surgeries and TAVR’s, diverse general surgical services including bariatric surgery, a fully integrated and accredited cancer center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as clinical trials, neonatal intensive care, inpatient behavioral health spanning all age groups including adolescents and geriatrics, and an active emergency department.     

The residency program at Ascension NE Wisconsin-St. Elizabeth Hospital provides residents with a well-rounded experience that will prepare them to pursue the career path they desire.  The warm and welcoming environment of a community hospital allows residents to develop meaningful relationships with health care professionals from different disciplines and gain confidence and experience in collaborating to make positive impacts on patient care.  Throughout the residency year residents will be challenged and supported by an experienced group of preceptors as they complete required rotations that integrate both clinical and administrative experiences and provide staffing services in both our central pharmacy and decentrally on our inpatient units.  Ascension is one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the nation which creates the opportunity for residents to complete projects throughout the year that can have impacts at the local, state, and national level of the Ascension organization.  Elective offerings allow the resident to customize their experience to their areas of interest.
