We are thrilled to welcome you to our Internal Medicine Residency Program! Built on a foundation of excellence, compassion, and a commitment to preparing the next generation of leaders in Internal Medicine, our program combines the strengths of community-based care with academic rigor. Our mission is to prepare you to deliver outstanding patient care, become a well-rounded physician, and contribute meaningfully to advancing medical knowledge and improving healthcare delivery. We foster scholarly inquiry, encourage curiosity, and promote a lifelong commitment to learning.

Your inpatient training will take place at two distinct sites in Milwaukee, WI:

• Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s (CSM) – a tertiary care center with state-of-the-art facilities, serving a broad and diverse patient population across urban Milwaukee and surrounding communities.
• Ascension St. Joseph Hospital – a community-based hospital dedicated to serving medically underserved populations, offering opportunities to address the social determinants of health and provide equitable, community-centered care.

Our Internal Medicine Continuity Clinic at North Avenue provides longitudinal outpatient care to patients from historically marginalized communities. This experience will allow you to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients while honing your skills in preventative medicine and chronic disease management.

Beyond medicine, Milwaukee offers a vibrant quality of life—blending big-city attractions with a welcoming, small-town feel. From the stunning shores of Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee Public Market to cheering for the Bucks or Brewers, exploring the Milwaukee Art Museum, or enjoying world-class events like Summerfest, there is something for everyone.
