Our Mission

Mission Statement
The Ascension Wisconsin/ Ascension St Vincent Indiana's Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program's mission is to graduate compassionate, highly-skilled Obstetrician-Gynecologists driven to provide high-quality care with a focus on caring for underserved and special populations. Our Catholic health ministry is dedicated to spiritually-centered, holistic care which sustains and improves the health of individuals and communities. We are advocates for a compassionate and just society through our actions and our words. We are responsible for the specialty training of physicians that ensures their competency and autonomy for independent practice in caring for the populations they will serve in an altruistic, compassionate, and cost-effective manner. The focus of the program will be community care, first and foremost, but with a strong academic backbone of learning and scholarly inquiry. Being aligned with the Ascension Mission, the program provides a supportive culture for faculty, house-staff, and administrative personnel to promote innovation and excellence in physician training, as well as a commitment to the principles of life-long learning and healthcare equity to serve the needs of our nation and all its communities. Our program includes ambulatory training and inpatient care of complex patients, diverse surgical experiences, and a rigorous clinical curriculum that emphasizes patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and leadership that meets all Residency Review Committee (RRC) accreditation requirements and Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) objectives.
