Internal Medicine Residency
About the Program
The IM residency is a three (3) year program, accredited by the ACGME, that provides diverse opportunities for training in this specialty. The residents have ample opportunity for supervised patient care and development of procedural skills, in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Rotations in all subspecialties of Internal Medicine are available at Ascension Genesys Hospital and electives are offered annually.
Genesys is a founding member and training site in the Statewide Campus System (SCS) of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Our affiliate residencies include Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic Surgery. SCS is a partnership of 20 major teaching hospitals. Michigan State University offers all the benefits and advantages of a nationally recognized university combined with the opportunity for hands-on clinical training. SCS enhances the diversity of the clinical experience and strengthens the organization and planning for residency programs.
