Gastroenterology Fellowship
A Message from our Program Director
Justin Miller, DO, AGAF, FACOI
Program Director, Gastroenterology Fellowship
Thank you for your interest in the Gastroenterology fellowship program at Ascension Genesys Hospital. We are a three-year training program accredited by both the ACGME and AOA. Our fellowship has a total of four fellows, taking 2 fellows every third year and one fellow each of the other years.
We have 7 physicians and one DNP on faculty, and all are involved in daily education with the fellows. We have structured didactics with faculty attendance and hands-on training that begins day 1 of fellowship and progresses as the fellow is deemed able. Endoscopic training occurs at Ascension Genesys Hospital as well as at a high-volume endoscopy center. Advanced procedures such as ERCP and EUS are performed at Ascension Genesys with an advanced-trained endoscopist on faculty.
Upon completion of the fellowship, the trainee should be competent to perform general gastroenterology in any setting. All our graduates who have applied to fourth year fellowships have been accepted, and our fellows have a 100% pass rate on both AOA and ACGME subspecialty board exams to date.
Our faculty take great pride in providing a supportive and challenging educational environment. Thank you again for your interest in our program. Should you have any questions regarding the fellowship beyond what is covered here, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Justin Miller, DO, AGAF, FACOI
