The Ascension Genesys postdoctoral fellowship program maintains a close working relationship with the Michigan Center for Advanced Psychology Training (MICAPT) and other area psychologists who provide didactic training experiences for the program. Adjunct faculty members are listed below in alphabetical order.
Jennifer Carty, Ph.D.

Dr. Carty earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a minor in health psychology from Wayne State University in 2016. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in primary care psychology through the University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine. Following graduation, she completed a two-year fellowship furthering her training in primary care psychology and medical education with the University of Massachusetts Medical School Department of Family and Community Medicine. She is a member of CFHA and STFM. Her primary professional interests include integrated primary care, medical education, women’s health, chronic pain, and wellness.s.

Dr. Carty earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a minor in health psychology from Wayne State University in 2016. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in primary care psychology through the University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Cederna-Meko received a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in pediatrics and behavioral health at The May Institute in Boston, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric clinical health psychology through MSU/CHM at Hurley Medical Center. Her primary professional interests include health promotion, coping and adaptation to chronic illness, medical and interprofessional education, and somatic symptom disorders.

Dr. Andrew Champine obtained his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology (MISPP). He completed a two year postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology through the MSU Consortium for Advanced Psychology Training program. Dr. Champine now serves as the Director of Behavioral Medicine Education for the Internal Medicine program at McLaren Flint. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM), APA Division 32-Society of Humanistic Psychology, APA Division 38-Health Psychology, and Association for Psychologist in Academic Health Centers (APAHC). His areas of professional interest include behavioral science integration in primary and specialty care, population health, humanistic-existential medicine, curriculum development in medical education, and quality improvement.

Shannon Dennis, Ph.D.

Dr. Dennis received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at John Hopkins University School of Medicine - Kennedy Krieger Institute and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship with the Consortium for Advanced Psychology Training. Upon completion, she joined the Faculty at Hurley Medical Center. Her interests include pediatric neuropsychology, traumatic brain injury, and team collaboration with schools and families in rehabilitation from traumatic brain injury.

She completed her predoctoral internship at the Hawthorn Center in Northville, Michigan. Currently, Dr. Franklin's professional interests include weight management and chemical dependency.

She completed her pre-doctoral internship through Wayne State University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. Following graduation, she completed a two year post-doctoral fellowship through the Consortium for Advanced Psychology Training at McLaren-Flint. Her clinical work includes consultation liaison and outpatient psychotherapy and assessment. Her research interests include geriatric populations and integrating behavioral medicine teaching and interventions into medical education.

Kirk Stucky, Psy.D., ABPP, RP, CN

Dr. Stucky received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Florida Tech in 1995. He completed a two year post doctoral fellowship in medical psychology in 1997. He is board certified in clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology. Dr. Stucky also serves as a consultant to various outpatient rehabilitation facilities & medical groups. His primary interests include neuropsychology, rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, and the hospital practice of medical psychology.

Yen-Ju Lee, Ph.D.

Dr. Yen Ju Lee obtained his PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy in 2019. He completed his pre-doctoral internship in community mental health through Asian Americans for Community Involvement in San Jose, California. Additionally, Dr. Lee completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship at Ascension Genesys in Grand Blanc, MI, specializing in Clinical Health Psychology and Medical Education. His areas of professional interest also include behavioral science integration in primary care (e.g., adverse childhood experiences, trauma-informed care, etc.). Dr. Lee strives to appreciate individuals’ unique cultural backgrounds and to cultivate collaborative relationships with not only his colleagues and co-workers, and his patients.

Her areas of professional interest include women’s mental health issues, dissociative disorders, mindfulness meditation, and medical education.
