Meet Our Residents
Alyaa Abbas, PharmD
Resident
Alyaa is originally from Egypt and earned her PharmD degree from Pacific University in Oregon. Her clinical interests include cardiology, internal medicine, ambulatory care, and infectious diseases. Her elective rotations include medication safety, family medicine, cardiology, and oncology. She is also completing a teaching certificate through Concordia University School of Pharmacy. Her year-long research project is Assessment of Diuretic Use in Patients Admitted with Acute Decompensated Heart Failure. In her free time, Alyaa enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, reading, walking, cooking, home decorating, and solving puzzles.
Bianca Flores, PharmD
Resident
Bianca is originally from the Philippines and was raised in San Francisco, CA. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at San Jose State University. She then completed her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree at Pacific University Oregon. Her clinical interests include oncology, medication safety, and investigational drugs. Her year-long research project is Evaluation of NAC use in non-acetaminophen-induced acute liver failure. In her free time, Bianca enjoys exploring new coffee shops, reading mystery novels, playing board games with friends, and running.
Brendan Ogubuike, PharmD
Resident
Brendan is originally from San Bernardino, California. He completed his undergraduate studies at California State University San Bernardino and his Doctor of Pharmacy training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His clinical interests include oncology, cardiology, and ambulatory care. His selected rotation electives are informatics, cardiology, and oncology. Brendan’s year-long research project focuses on 30‑day readmissions and issues related to discharge medication reconciliation. In his free time, he enjoys running, trying new restaurants, and photography.
Duaa Qureshi, PharmD
Resident
Duaa is originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Roosevelt University College of Pharmacy. Her clinical interests include ambulatory care, primary care, and infectious disease and her elective rotations are Family Medicine, Medication Safety, Antimicrobial Stewardship and NICU/Women's Health. Her year-long research project evaluates the impact of penicillin allergy assessment and delabeling programs on prescribing patterns and clinical outcomes. When she's not in the hospital, Duaa enjoys playing guitar, cooking for the people she loves, decorating her apartment, and working under the close supervision of her cats, who love sitting on her keyboard.
