Ascension St. John Hospital Family Medicine Residency

Our program in the Detroit area offers a unique blend of urban, suburban, and rural experiences, preparing our graduates to thrive in any setting within the broad scope of Family Medicine. We are a community-based program with a strong academic flavor and the resources of the award-winning Ascension St. John Hospital. All of our faculty have clinical appointments at Central Michigan University, Wayne State University, and St. George’s University. As you will see below, our program is particularly known for our emphasis on family-oriented maternity care, procedures, and practice management. Our residents have the flexibility to pursue individual career interests and leave here well-grounded in the future of family medicine, the Patient-Centered Medical Home, and the EMR skills necessary to excel in their careers.
