Ascension St. John Hospital now offers a 2 year Rheumatology Fellowship program.
A diverse patient population with a wide variety of rheumatologic disorders, including rare conditions, is available. Ascension St. John Hospital is a 612 bed community hospital servicing a large urban, suburban and rural region. Our rheumatology inpatient consultation service provides exposure to adult and pediatric rheumatology patients admitted with autoimmune diseases, such as vasculitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, temporal arteritis, acute inflammatory arthritis, and other autoimmune and acute inflammatory conditions. Our inpatient consultation service also provides Telehealth inpatient consultations to several rural hospitals in the Ascension systems, some as far north as Standish and Tawas, Michigan. The Ascension St. John outpatient rheumatology clinics provide care for patients with chronic rheumatic conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, polymyositis, temporal arteritis, vasculitis and other chronic musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases. Our fellows will participate in rural Telehealth clinics as part of their ambulatory experience.
