The interview day consists of multiple interviews with the director, faculty members, and current residents. Applicants will have an opportunity to meet a large number of residents and faculty through the process, including a faculty-hosted dinner the night before the interview, the noon conference lunch “meet and greet” session on the actual day of the interview, and will have the opportunity to tour the facilities where we serve our patients. Our out-of-town applicants are provided one night's lodging at a local hotel close to both Ascension Medical Groupal Campus sites which provides airport shuttle service.

Interviews
The following criteria have been established to help us select applicants for interview:
- Graduation date from medical school must not exceed one year from the date the application is received in our office
- Applicants must have U.S. citizenship, permanent resident status, or a valid work visa (i.e. J-1).
- All applicants must have successfully passed USMLE Step I or the COMLEX Level I examination prior to application to the program and should have passed the USMLE Step II CK (or COMLEX Level 2-CE) and USMLE CS (or COMLEX PE) prior to the Rank Order List deadline in mid-February in order to be eligible for inclusion on our NRMP Rank Order List. A single previous licensing exam failure does not automatically preclude an interview offer; however, applicants with multiple step failures will only be offered an interview in unusual circumstances.
- If an applicant has trained in a foreign medical school, they must be certified by ECFMG
- Applicant must be able to be licensed in the state of Kansas (their medical school must be recognized by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts)
- No U.S. clinical experience is required
- All applications must be received through ERAS (Program Code: 3054120C0).
- Osteopathic Applicants: Our residency has long been recognized as a program of osteopathic excellence with Dual ACGME and AOA accreditation. Due to the implementation of the Single Accreditation System, AOA accreditation of all programs nationwide will cease to exist on June 30, 2020. To prepare for this change we have already obtained Osteopathic Recognition from the ACGME (effective July 1, 2015) and all DOs plus interested MDs may join our Osteopathic Focused Track. Since the AOA program will eventually not exist for residents who join the program in 2018 and beyond, we will no longer participate in the NMS match and all interested applicants will join the Osteopathic Focused Track during their first year. All applicants will need to apply to the ACGME program through ERAS and register with the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP)
