Why Genesys?

I chose Ascension Genesys because from the first time I spoke to the preceptors and residents at a residency showcase, it was clear that they were all truly passionate about their residency program and about pharmacy practice as a whole. I was looking for a PGY-1 residency program that had exceptional preceptors that were excited to teach and allow residents to develop into competent pharmacists, and I knew that the residency program at Ascension Genesys definitely checked that box for me. Now that I have started my residency, I am incredibly glad that I chose Genesys. The residency is designed in a way that makes me sure that I will be ready to practice independently as a clinical pharmacist by the end of the program. The preceptors are also incredibly focused on resident well-being and dedicated to their role in resident development. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and highly recommend this residency program.

Why Genesys?

The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program offered a variety of learning opportunities through different clinical rotations, longitudinal projects, and academic experience that align with my future career pathway of academia and clinical practice. As a pharmacy resident at Ascension Genesys, my personal wellbeing and professional growth are their top priorities. Ascension Genesys is like a home to me where I felt welcomed during the interview and enjoyed working with many knowledgeable pharmacists and preceptors who really care about me in an inclusive and respectful working environment. I am looking forward to embracing a whole different myself with a significantly higher level of clinical, research, and teaching skills after this residency year.

Why Genesys?

One main reason I chose to complete my PGY1 residency at Ascension Genesys was the fantastic care that both myself and my family have experienced here over the years. The staff at Ascension take a great deal of pride in what they do and their impact on patients, families, and the community. Being a part of this team has allowed me to grow as a clinician and connect with many other healthcare professionals to provide patient focused care and positive outcomes.

Why Genesys?
I started working for Ascension during my final year of pharmacy school. The people at Ascension are some of the kindest people I have worked with. I have always been interested in management and pharmacy leadership and Ascension Genesys was my perfect match. I love that their program allows me to gain clinical practice experience through my traditional PGY1, but allows me to grow relationships I will take with me into my PGY2.
