Admissions Process
As one of the requirements for consideration of admission, candidates are required to complete an onsite observation (job shadow) in the Neurodiagnostic department at Ascension St Vincent. Applicants are advised to allow sufficient observation time (a minimum of 4 hours) to familiarize themselves with the role of Technologists in a healthcare setting. Observations must be completed before the application deadline but not more than a year prior to the start of the program.
To be eligible to observe within Ascension St. Vincent, the following will be required:
· Proof of negative TB test within the last three months prior to coming onsite.
· Proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella; Varicella; Tdap.
· Proof of Influenza vaccination within the current year.
To request an observation at an Ascension St Vincent hospital, please complete the Job Shadowing Request Form. You will need to upload electronic copies of all required documentation as part of the application process.
Please allow a minimum of two weeks for Ascension to review and process the submission. Once the request has been approved, the program director or representative from the Neurodiagnostic department will contact you to schedule the observation.
Kindly note that it may take an additional two weeks to get the observation scheduled once the program director receives notification that you have been cleared to shadow. All job shadowing requests are on a first come first serve basis and availability may be limited when application windows are open.
It is important that you follow the instructions and complete the Job Shadowing Request form to get scheduled for an observation to be completed prior to the application deadline.
