Dr. Mitchell choose an alternative path on his way to Critical Care. He was an EMT prior to medical school, he chose to do an Emergency Medicine Residency in Detroit at Henry Ford Hospital. It was there that he fell in love with Critical Care and met a huge mentor to him, Dr. Emanuel Rivers. He then pursued a Critical Care Fellowship at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He has been with Ascension St. Vincent since 2018 and have been actively involved with the Fellowship since its inception. He is married to a Nurse and has two children. Most of his free time is traveling around the country with my daughter's dance studio. When he is at home, you can usually find him in his home gym or reading the latest Fantasy Novel.

Residency Program: University of Cincinnati Medical Center
Fellowship Program: Baylor University Medical Center
1. Tell us about yourself in a few lines - training, career path, family, interests, etc.
Dr. Gannon grew up in Michigan with a family full of doctors so he was always interested in medicine. Completed undergraduate at University of Michigan (Go Blue!) majoring in physics. Stayed in Michigan for medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit. He moved south to complete IM residency at University of Cincinnati. He then moved further south to Texas for his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Baylor University medical center. His family and him moved back to the midwest to Indianapolis to be closer to family and to escape the oppressive summer heat in TX (although I do miss the barbecue and tacos). Here his wife (an ER doctor at IU) and him spend most of their free time raising our family; we have 3 boys (1, 3 and 5 years old) and 3 dogs (Aussies).
