Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduate or candidate for graduation with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). 
  • Eligible for licensure in Texas and able to obtain pharmacist license by August 1. 
  • All candidates must be eligible to work in the US throughout the duration of the residency year. We are unable to sponsor international students/graduates at this time. 
  • Enrollment in the ASHP Residency Match Program.
  • PGY-2 candidates: Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Residency.

Guidelines for Application

Application deadline is January 2, 2024. All materials must be received by the deadline in order to be considered for an interview. Applications must be completed through the WebAdMIT/PhORCAS system. Completed applications include: 

  • Letter of intent
  • Official college of pharmacy transcripts
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Three references completed in PhORCAS

Information for reference writers: We ask that the reference writers complete the four questions that are optional in PhORCAS and include the same quantity and quality of information that they would normally include in a traditional letter of recommendation.

FAQs

  • Is there support to attend meetings? 

    Ability to provide financial support for travel is assessed on an annual basis. When available, residents may be given some financial support to attend the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and/or the Alcalde Southwest Regional Residency Conference
  • How much time off do the residents receive? 

    Residents receive a total of 200 hours (25 days) of front-loaded (PTO) per year, which is utilized for conference attendance (5 days), holidays (5-6 days) and personal/sick leave (14-15 days). All requests for time off will be reviewed in accordance with the Ascension Seton Pharmacy Residency Program PTO policy.
