Residency Program

Overview

The PGY1 portion of this combined residency program provides an in-depth clinical experience at Ascension Texas / Seton Healthcare Family, which consists of a 13-hospital network throughout central Texas. The health-system includes a large academic medical center, a children’s hospital, and number of community and critical access sites. Clinical training is tailored to the resident’s background and special interests. The resident will be a preceptor for the pharmacy clerkship students and will be involved in teaching activities through the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy.

The PGY2 portion of the combined program provides opportunities for the resident to be immersed in an extensive and professionally diverse leadership and management experience.   The residency is conducted in a corporate environment that impacts pharmaceutical care, medication management and patient care across the largest non-profit health system in the U.S. Ascension sites of care include critical access hospitals, large academic tertiary care institutions and smaller community clinics. Ascension provides residents the opportunity to freely exchange ideas and best practices for the benefit of every patient at every facility while working with the hundreds of professionals across the country, maximizing the resident’s post-residency career opportunities.
