Applications & Interview Season

Ascension St. Vincent is committed to keeping its associates, patients and community members safe. In keeping in compliance with COVID-19 precautions, all Ascension St. Vincent Residency Program interviews this season will be conducted virtually via Zoom interviewing software.

Our interview sessions will be held in November and December for the 2023/2024 season.

Applications

  • US Graduates
  • We accept five residents per year
  • Applications are accepted through October 1
  • We accept applications only through ERAS (the Electronic Residency Application Service). Our Program is listed as Institution: St. Vincent Indianapolis Hosp Program: St Vincent Hospital and Health Care Center Program Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology. Program ID: 2201711101
  • Current residents and teaching faculty are actively involved in the interview process and final selection
  • We accept USMLE and/or COMLEX

All applications with passing scores are screened for interviews; however, the average Step I and Step II scores of current residents is 225Three letters of recommendation, in addition to Dean's letter, are preferred

  • International Graduates
  • We accept five residents per year

  • Applicants must be within 5 years of graduation to apply

  • Our program sponsors J-1 Visas only

  • Previous clinical U.S. experience is required

  • Applications are accepted through October 1

Candidate review and selection of candidates to be interviewed will begin once the ERAS application, personal statement, CV, USMLE or COMLEX exam results, and required letters of recommendation are received via ERAS.

Interview Process

  • International Graduates
  • Selected candidates will be provided an interview invitation and additional instructions for the interview process. Candidates can expect to spend about 2 hours during the interview process.
  • Candidates will be offered a virtual meet and greet with current residents the day before the interview to learn more about the program.
  • Current residents and teaching faculty are actively involved in the interview process and final selection.

On interview days, candidates will begin the day with a joint session with all other candidates to touch base with the Program Coordinator prior to starting their interview sessions (we will do a mic check, review any questions, etc.).  Each candidate will then participate in 4 virtual interview sessions, each session will last 15-20 minutes.
