Graduation Requirements

During the eighteen (18) month program, the student will be required to demonstrate graduation requirements listed through academic testing and completion of professional and clinical competencies. The student must maintain acceptable academic standards (minimum of 80% in all courses and clinical standards (85%), exhibit professional conduct, and maintain high standards of achievement in order to graduate and be eligible to apply for the national registry with Cardiac Credentialing International.

  1. Use oral and written medical communication

  2. Demonstrate adequate knowledge of cardiovascular structure, function, and pathology.

  3. Anticipate and provide basic patient care and comfort.

  4. Apply principles of body mechanics in the correct manner.

  5. Successfully perform basic mathematical functions. 

  6. Correctly operate cardiac catheterization equipment and accessory devices.

  7. Successfully modify standard procedures to accommodate for patient condition and other variables.

  8. Correctly process a cardiac catheterization study.

  9. Correctly adjust machine functions, transducers, and accessories for various patient conditions to maintain appropriate radiography quality.

  10. Practice the ALARA principle of radiography exposure for the patient, self and others at all times.

  11. Successfully recognize emergency patient conditions, initiate first aid, and basic life support procedures.

  12. Evaluate the performance of radiography systems, know the safe limits of equipment operation, and report malfunctions to the proper authority.

  13. Demonstrate knowledge and skills relating to quality assurance.

  14. Exercise independent judgment and discretion in the technical performance of medical imaging procedures.

  15. Understand x-ray production and interactions.

  16. Support and practice the CCI professional Code of Ethics.

  17. Completely satisfy tuition balance to equal zero.

  18. Successfully complete all final clinical competencies.

  19. Maintain an academic average of 80% or higher.

  20. Maintain a clinical average of 85% or higher

  21. Not exceed the maximum sick days according to program policy 


Award of Completion

Upon successful completion, Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside, provides a graduation ceremony where each student is awarded a certificate of completion. A certificate and pin is awarded to each student during the graduation ceremony. Graduation attendance is mandatory.
