Welcome
Thank you for your interest in beginning your residency experience with us!
We offer 18 Transitional Year positions - providing one clinical base year of training prior to entering advanced specialty residency programs. Residents that come through our program go on to train in a wide variety of specialties - including Anesthesiology, Radiology, Dermatology, Radiation-Oncology and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) - all over the country.
Our program is closely integrated with the Internal Medicine residency program so I encourage you to check it out as well since a significant portion of your time will be spent with your IM counterparts. More details regarding the program including details on the inpatient service lines, for example, can be found here.
Our program is unique in that we offer the opportunity for half the class to start their intern year early (~June 1st), as well as opportunities to participate in a Clinician Educator Track, an introductory POCUS curriculum, Global Health Elective, and simulation experiences in a state-of-the-art $13M simulation center.
Having trained here at Ascension St. Vincent myself as an Internal Medicine resident, serving as a Chief Resident and then eventually teaching faculty I have grown to appreciate the privilege it is to serve our community, our learners, and to be a small part of your journey through medicine. I am committed to making this program and your experience the best it can be - so that you feel incredibly prepared for your advanced program and develop into an amazing professional and human.
Please use this website to learn more about our program and what we have to offer. I look forward to meeting you!
