PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency

PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program

(in affiliation with the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy)

The PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency is a one-year training program offering advanced practice experiences in a variety of outpatient settings. The program is conducted primarily in Ascension Medical Group/Ascension Medical Group primary care locations, with rotation opportunities across a variety of specialty clinics as well. The program offers positions for up to two residents annually.

Residents will participate in several longitudinal rotations, including primary care, research, and academia as well as service and professional development. Numerous elective opportunities are available for the resident to select from. Residents will also have the opportunity to initiate a new clinical pharmacy service during their residency year.

The PGY2 program is conducted in affiliation with the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. This close relationship provides the resident with numerous opportunities to gain experience in academia, including instructing pharmacy students through skills labs, clinical assessments and didactic lectures. Participation in the Teaching Certificate Program conducted for PGY1 residents will be optional for PGY2 residents based upon their PGY1 experiences. Graduates of the PGY2 residency in ambulatory care will be prepared to pursue clinical faculty or clinical practice positions.
