The hospitalist AOC was developed to give residents opportunities for more experience with inpatient medicine, allowing them to care for hospitalized patients confidently. They will be prepared to practice as hospitalists or to practice traditional family medicine. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the AOC starting in the last 3 months of their first year of residency and no later than 6 months into their second year.
