Minimum Non-Academic Requirements

 

  1. Be 18 years of age or older by June 1st of the year the applicant is applying for enrollment. 
  2. Be eligible to work in the United States as required by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents). 
  3. Submit a completed and signed (electronically or by hand)  application for admission by January 31.
  4. Submit with the application for admission a $40 application fee in the form of a money order or bank check by January 31.  NO CASH can be accepted. 
  5. Attend an in-person pre-admission conference.  Dates, times and location are found herein.
  6. Submit official academic transcripts from all post-secondary colleges, technical schools, vocational or other post-secondary institutions attended.
  7. Submit a narrative essay that is signed and dated. The narrative should not exceed 800 words. Responses should reflect the applicant’s personal experiences and be written in their own words:
    1. Describe the experience, moment, or influence that led you to pursue a career as a cardiac sonographer. Explain what specifically interests you about this profession.
    2. Describe three traits you believe are essential for a successful cardiac sonographer. Please provide an example of how you have demonstrated or observed this trait in your own life or work.
    3. Describe an instance in your life where you have shown perseverance? What did you learn that will help you during the rigors of this program?
