PGY1 Program Requirements

Residency certificate will be issued upon successful
completion of the following activities:

  • Research Project
  • One medication use evaluation (MUE)
  • Satisfactory completion of all required learning experiences as determined by the preceptor(s) of each learning experience
  • Provide two (2) Pharmacy Continuing Education Programs
  • Maintain Duty Hour Log
  • Designated health-system and medical center committee meetings (P & T, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Medication Management/Safety and others based on interest)
  • At least two (2) volunteer activities per year
  • Achievement of 75% of the program's goals and objectives
    - For those goals and objectives not achieved, the resident should receive at least a "frequently" when evaluated during the learning experience
    - The resident should not have a "needs improvement" scoring on any unachieved goals and objectives
  • BLS / ACLS certification
  • Evaluations – completed within 7 days of rotation completion in Pharm Academic
  • Upload all required residency documents in PharmAcademicTM by noon on the last working day of the residency program
  • Residents will complete 52 weeks of residency.
  • Each resident will be expected to meet ASHP standards throughout the year of residency training
    in educational and professional progression.

Departmental Service Commitment :

  • Meet every other weekend staffing requirement as well as required assigned week-long and holiday coverage of clinical consult coordinator activities
