Faculty

Taylor Morse has been an associate of Ascension St. Vincent since 2019 and currently serves as the Surgical Technology Program Manager for Ascension St. Vincent College of Health Professions. She began her career as a Certified Surgical Technologist, gaining experience across a wide range of surgical specialties with a particular focus on pediatric surgery and complex surgical procedures.

Taylor is certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) and graduated at the top of her class with an Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology. She has since continued her education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, further strengthening her background in healthcare leadership, education, and program development.

Throughout her career with Ascension St. Vincent, Taylor has transitioned from clinical practice into surgical technology education and program leadership. Her experience in the operating room continues to shape her approach to educating students, developing curriculum, supporting faculty, and preparing future Certified Surgical Technologists for the demands of modern surgical practice.

Taylor is passionate about the surgical technology profession and is committed to developing knowledgeable, technically skilled, compassionate, and professional surgical technologists. She is proud to help prepare the next generation of CSTs to provide exceptional care to patients and make a meaningful impact within the surgical team.

Rick Morse joined the Ascension St. Vincent College of Health Professions Surgical Technology Program as a Clinical Coordinator in 2024. Rick graduated in 2018 from Ivy Tech-Lafayette with his Associates in Applied Science and Surgical Technology, and became Board Certified through the National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) shortly after graduation. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University, having graduated in 2015.

After graduating from Ivy Tech, Rick began his career in the IU Health system at University Hospital in downtown Indianapolis. Here he was exposed to numerous surgical specialties and complex cancer cases. It was here that Rick discovered his surgical passion in the ENT/Head and Neck subspecialty. He transferred to Ascension St. Vincent in 2021, to further his knowledge and gain more experience at a Level 1 Adult/Pediatric Trauma center. Between his time at these two institutions, he obtained credible preceptor status, exposure to vast surgical techniques and specialties, and became a valuable resource for ENT, plastic reconstructive surgery, oral and maxillofacial, and thoracic surgery.

Rick is very passionate about the field of Surgical Technology and excited to give back to the profession by molding future CSTs and furthering the future of our roles in the Operating Room.

Sanne Bestmann joined Ascension St. Vincent College of Health Professions as a Surgical Technology Clinical Coordinator in 2023. Sanne graduated Magna Cum Laude with an associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology and shortly after in 2013, became certified through the National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

Prior to joining our team, Sanne worked at the Indiana Spine Hospital at which she advanced and demonstrated her capabilities in the field of complex surgical spine procedures.  She gained significant exposure to surgical techniques during her services with other Indianapolis based hospitals and their respective surgical fields of expertise, most notably neurosurgery, burn, gender affirmation, and plastic reconstructive surgery.

Sanne brings years of experience and love for the Surgical Technology profession that will ready future CSTs for this important and exciting career path.
