Admissions

Clinical Observations

Although not required for consideration of admission, the program faculty strongly recommends that candidates complete an onsite observation in radiography. An observation/shadow is a great way to meet the faculty and learn more about the radiography program and the profession. You'll also get to interact with current students and get their perspective on being on the program. Observations are generally for four hours but may be longer if desired.

We schedule observations at any of the locations below.

  • Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital
  • Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital
  • Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo Hospital

To be eligible to observe within any Ascension St. Vincent facility, the following will be required:

  • Proof of negative TB test within the last three months prior to coming onsite.
  • Proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella; Varicella; Tdap.
  • Proof of Influenza vaccination within the current year.

To request an observation at an Ascension St. Vincent hospital, please complete the Job Shadowing Request Form. You will need to upload electronic copies of all required documentation as part of the application process. You can also indicate the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital where you would like to observe.

Please allow a minimum of two weeks for Ascension St. Vincent to review and process your request. Once the request has been approved, you will be contacted by program faculty to schedule the observation. Also be aware that it may take two or more weeks to get the observation scheduled once the program faculty member receives notification that the observer has been cleared to shadow.  All job shadowing requests are on a first come first serve basis and availability may be limited when application windows are open.
