Pharmacy Postgraduate Year Two Critical Care Residency Program
St. Vincent’s Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program is designed to develop a well-rounded independent critical care practitioner able to provide high-level clinical services in a variety of ICU settings.
Learning Experiences
The rotation schedule for the 12-month PGY2 Residency Program includes:
- Orientation (4 weeks)
- Seven Core Rotations (28 weeks)
- Elective Rotations (16 weeks)
- Research Block (2 weeks)
- ASHP Mid-Year Clinical Meeting (1 week)
- Year End Wrap-Up Block (1 week)
- Orientation (4 weeks)
- Medical Intensive Care I (6 weeks)
- Cardiac Intensive Care (6 weeks)
- Emergency Medicine (4 weeks)
- Infectious Diseases (4 weeks)
- Nutrition (2 weeks)
- Pharmacy Leadership/Continuous Quality Improvement (2 weeks)
- Medical Intensive Care II (4 weeks)
Electives (16 weeks)
- Antibiotic Stewardship/ Infectious Diseases II (4 weeks)
- Clinical Research (4 weeks)
- Nephrology (2 weeks)
- Pulmonology (2 weeks)
- Toxicology* (4 weeks)
- Surgical/Trauma Critical Care* (4 weeks)
- Neurocritical Care* (4 weeks)
- Medical Intensive Care with Transplant* (4 weeks)
- Repeat any learning experience once
* Rotations at other healthcare facilities. Availability of rotation is dependent upon the other program’s schedule. The resident can take no more than two rotations outside the health system.
