Pharmacy Postgraduate Year Two Critical Care Residency Program

St. Vincent’s Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program is designed to develop a well-rounded independent critical care practitioner able to provide high-level clinical services in a variety of ICU settings.

Department of Pharmacy Service

The Department of Pharmacy Services is committed to delivering high quality pharmaceutical care by providing a broad scope of services which are sensitive to the needs of the patient, the St. Vincent’s medical community and the institution. It is our belief that the establishment of patient-oriented pharmacy services provided by skilled pharmacy practitioners must be an integral part of the medical care rendered at St. Vincent’s. The department assumes its inherent responsibility for establishing and maintaining comprehensive, accurate and efficient drug distribution services. Pharmacy seeks to ensure the rational, safe and judicious use of medications through professional vigilance, an active Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and the provision of drug information and educational services to the professional staffs of St. Vincent’s. The department is staffed with approximately 70 employees including pharmacists, technicians, residents, interns and clerical support. The department utilizes automation technology and profile dispensing machines throughout the hospital.

St. Vincent's is a favorite teaching facility for pharmacy students from University of Florida, Palm Beach Atlantic University, LECOM School of Pharmacy, Florida A&M University, NOVA Southeastern University and University of South Florida.  In total, approximately 100 student rotation months are offered per year. The full-time staff offers 20-plus years of preceptor experience and clinical training.
