Ascension Mission/Vision/Values

Our Mission, Vision and Values guide everything we do at Ascension. They are foundational to our work to transform healthcare and express our priorities when providing care and services, particularly to those most in need.

Mission

Rooted in the loving ministry of Jesus as healer, we commit ourselves to serving all persons with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Our Catholic health ministry is dedicated to spiritually centered, holistic care which sustains and improves the health of individuals and communities. We are advocates for a compassionate and just society through our actions and our words.

Vision

We envision a strong, vibrant Catholic health ministry in the United States which will lead to the transformation of healthcare. We will ensure service that is committed to health and well-being for our communities and that responds to the needs of individuals throughout the life cycle. We will expand the role of laity, in both leadership and sponsorship, to ensure a Catholic health ministry of the future.

CPE Program Mission and Vision

Mission

We are dedicated to developing spiritual care leaders through transformative education founded upon spiritual reflection, formation and competency.

 

Vision

We envision our graduates as healthier spiritual care leaders contributing to healthier communities.   


Healthier communities welcome diversity, practice inclusion at every level and have a holistic understanding of wellness.  


For this reason, we will offer transformative, evidence-based educational programs informed by routine evaluation.

As part of our Ascension Mission as well as the Value of Reverence: Honoring the Dignity and Diversity of Life, Our CPE Program is committed to integrating the themes of the ABIDE structure for diversity and inclusion into all aspects of our program. 

ABIDE stands for Appreciation, Belongingness, Inclusivity, Diversity and Equity. 

We include attention to systemic injustice, health disparities and providing equitable spiritual care in the programs we conduct.
