Dr. Kumrah completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science major in biomedical sciences, a minor in health sciences, and a certificate in leadership studies from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. She later received her master's in medical sciences from the University of South Florida and graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
In her spare time, Dr. Kumrah enjoys cooking, baking, hosting dinner parties, working out, and exploring cities for local coffee shops.
Niral Patel, DPM, MS

Dr. Patel was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Indiana University and Indiana University School of Medicine where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Science in Medical Science, respectively. He also earned certificates in Public Health and Personal Training at this time. Dr. Patel then went on to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Rosalind Franklin University - Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL.
His interests in podiatric medicine and surgery include reconstructive surgery, trauma, limb salvage, diabetology, and practice management. Dr. Patel is excited to be continuing his education and surgical training at Ascension St. Vincent. He enjoys the motivational atmosphere, knowledge & enthusiasm of each attending, and strong relationships between residents. Dr. Patel is thrilled to be training alongside nationally recognized surgeons.
In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with family & friends, playing sports & exercising, traveling, studying investment portfolios, reading, and volunteering at his Temple.
Andrew Syndergaard, DPM

Dr. Syndergaard completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science major in exercise science at Brigham Young University. He then worked in various positions in several hospitals until he decided to return to school to pursue a degree in medicine. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana where he received an MS degree in health science and was introduced to the world of podiatric medicine. After more investigation and time spent shadowing, he decided podiatry was the kind of medicine just for him. He then earned his doctoral degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois. He is very excited and humbled to be a part of the Ascension St. Vincent podiatric residency, and the expansive variety of training that he will be receiving at this program.
Dr. Syndergaard enjoys spending most of his spare time with anything that involves getting outside. He particularly enjoys skiing, golfing, biking, hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, running, and traveling, but most of all, his favorite times are spent with his wife and 4 young children. He is also fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Hoy completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Arts in major in Biology from Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. She also completed a Master’s in Biomedical Science at Marian University in Indianapolis before receiving her doctorate from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL.
Dr. Hoy is a proud Hoosier who is excited to continue her medical training back at home in Indiana. In her spare time, she enjoys being out in nature, exercising, trying cool new restaurants, and watching IndyCar Racing.

She later attended podiatry school and graduated from Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine.
In her spare time, Dr. Starr enjoys hiking, pickleball, hosting friends, baking, and eating good food.

Tierra Binder, DPM

Dr. Binder completed her undergraduate education at Earlham College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. During this time, she took a keen interest in organic chemistry, research, art history, and competed in intercollegiate athletics. She later earned her doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL.
Dr. Binder is a proud native of Detroit, MI and developed an early passion for medicine through her experiences assisting in the care of her brother who has Autism and Cerebral Palsy. The ability to combine sports medicine, diabetic limb salvage, and care to individuals with neuromuscular disorders led her to pursue a career in foot and ankle surgery.
In her free time, Dr. Binder enjoys coaching girls basketball, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family/friends.
Damien Correa, DPM

Dr. Correa was born in Chicago, but raised in Gilbert, Arizona. He completed his undergraduate degree at Northern Arizona University where he achieved his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Correa then went on to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Az. His interests in podiatric medicine and surgery include Trauma, Reconstructive surgery, Limb Salvage and Sports Medicine. Dr. Correa is excited to be continuing his education and surgical training at Ascension St. Vincent, he enjoys the supportive environment that it provides and is excited to learn from some of the best in the profession. In his free time, Dr. Correa enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, and playing a round of golf.

Dr. Savannah Santiago, DPM, is from the sunny shores of San Diego, California. Inspired by her mother’s medical profession and her father’s woodworking skills, she harbored a passion for medicine and hands-on work from an early age. Pursuing her undergraduate education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), she double majored in biochemistry and Spanish language and culture. During her time at UCCS, she also had the privilege of being a college athlete, competing in both cross country and track and field, though she faced setbacks due to sports injuries, including multiple metatarsal stress fractures. It was these experiences, coupled with her own diagnosis of diabetes at 19, that ignited her interest in podiatry, seeing it as a perfect fit to serve communities with similar health challenges and quickly becoming her dream career.
Before embarking on her journey to podiatry school at Western University in Pomona, California, Dr. Santiago worked as a Spanish Language Medical Translator, further enriching her understanding of healthcare accessibility and communication. At Western, she earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. Her podiatric medicine and surgical interests include reconstructive surgery, limb salvage, pediatric podiatry, sports medicine, and inpatient management.
Thrilled to join the St. Vincent team, Dr. Santiago values the collaborative and supportive environment, where each team member shares a passion for learning and a dedication to podiatry. She eagerly anticipates training with nationally recognized surgeons, eager to further hone her skills.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Santiago finds joy in spending time with her loved ones and indulging in outdoor activities. training. Whether she’s hiking, trail running, rollerblading, exploring farmers markets, or tending to her many plants, Dr. Santiago embraces life with boundless energy and enthusiasm.
Peter Sorensen, DPM, MHA

Dr. Sorensen was the first of five children born into an Air Force family, growing up in five different states before relocating to Santiago, Chile, where he graduated high school before his family relocated to southern Utah. He first became interested in podiatry when he broke his ankle and had reparative surgery. Dr. Sorensen completed a Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish at Southern Utah University, after which he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Master's of Healthcare Administration degrees concurrently from Des Moines University. Dr. Sorensen is interested in reconstructive surgery and clinical podiatric medicine, as well as healthcare legislation and policy. He loved his month at Ascension St. Vincent as a student, and is beyond excited to be working with one of the best teams in the field for the next three years. In his free time, Dr. Sorensen enjoys mountain biking, reading, playing piano, and most importantly spending time with his wife and two children.
