Continuing Medical Education
(CME)

Welcome to Genesys CME

Genesys Continuing Medical Education is committed to providing the highest-quality learning opportunities for physicians and other health care professionals. Our overall goal is to develop and implement creative, ethical, and evidence-based educational opportunities that are designed to increase physician competence, enhance practice performance, promote patient safety, and, where applicable, improve patient outcomes in the populations served by the health care providers we educate. Genesys Continuing Medical Education offers conferences, RSS, and joint provided courses throughout the year.

About Us

The Continuing Medical Educational Program at Ascension Genesys Hospital is responsible for the identification of the educational needs of our providers. It strives to provide high-quality educational opportunities that are designed to advance physician’s competence, enhance practice performance, promote patient safety, and where possible, improve patient outcomes in the populations served by the healthcare providers we educate. Live courses, regularly scheduled sessions (RSS), and jointly provided activities will be designed based on physician need as identified through chart audit, staff survey, literature review (general, specialty, and sub-specialty), local and state health databases, as well as clinical research (allopathic and osteopathic).

Our program is approved by Joint Accreditation through Ascension for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ and Ascension Genesys Hospital for American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Category 1A credit.  The AOA and Michigan State Medical Society have awarded Ascension Genesys Hospital with Accreditation with Commendation.  Our programs are recognized as high-quality education that meets the needs of our physicians and the surrounding community.

In addition, when our programs meet the needs of other healthcare providers, through our Joint Accreditation with Ascension, our programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Education Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.
