2026-2027 Interventional Cardiology Fellows

Training across Indiana, Georgia, and Arizona allowed me to learn from diverse patients, mentors, and health systems. I’m grateful to bring these experiences back home to Indiana to serve the community where I grew up.

I am so grateful to pursue interventional cardiology fellowship at Ascension St. Vincent because of its unwavering dedication to patient-centered care and exceptional education. From the start, I felt the faculty’s commitment to developing not only skilled interventional cardiologists but also thoughtful, compassionate physicians. The program’s culture of collaboration and mentorship made it the perfect place to continue my training.

I’m excited to hone my skills in the cath lab while keeping a holistic focus on patient well-being. Throughout my career, I hope to continue asking, "Am I a good doctor yet?"—a question that pushes me to grow, reflect, and deliver compassionate care. I also have a passion for exploring how artificial intelligence can complement cardiology, always balancing technology with the human connection at the core of our work.

Outside of the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, appreciating Indiana’s four seasons after the Arizona desert, and staying engaged with artificial intelligence, medical education, and innovations in cardiovascular care.

I was born and raised a Hoosier and have spent most of my education and training here, with the exception of a short stint down in the Bluegrass state at the University of Pikeville for medical school. Even prior to my first day of medical school, I have always dreamed of becoming a St. Vincent-trained Cardiologist. A family member had been cared for at the Heart Center, and I will never forget the comprehensive and compassionate care we received from that doctor, along with the nurses and support staff. I was fortunate enough to train here for my Internal Medicine Residency here, and had an inside look at the tremendous role that the Cardiology department and fellows play in providing outstanding care to some of the most complex cardiac patients in the region. On a more personal level, it is surreal to have the opportunity to spend one-on-one time learning from some of the most renowned and accomplished cardiologists in the country. Last but not least, the emphasis this program places on becoming an outstanding patient-focused clinician was very important to me.

Outside of work, I am married to my high school sweetheart Layne, who works as an epidemiologist at the Indiana State Health Department. We have a sweet little girl and a dachshund/lab mix named Tilly! I enjoy golfing, grilling, and anything that involves power tools!
