Teaching Physical Therapy

The resident is expected to complete clinical research. This is defined as a meaningful contribution to a current research study or knowledge translation project in addition to the completion of a case study or case series. Once the resident determines a specific and salient research direction, this project plan is formally submitted and approved by members of the residency faculty. The remainder of the residency year is spent fulfilling these responsibilities as clearly identified in the project plan.

Residents are heavily involved in efforts to translate current evidence to clinical practice. This work has been presented at the Indiana APTA Fall Conference, the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy Annual Conference, and the APTA Combined Section Meetings.
