Ascension St. Vincent Evansville
PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program

Pharmacy Residency Program Details

Thank you for your interest in the St. Vincent Evansville PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program.

The goal of the residency program is to provide residents with the training and support needed to expand their skills in providing excellent pharmaceutical care to patients. We aim to develop residents into well-rounded, compassionate healthcare providers who are fully prepared to function as qualified health system pharmacists.

Our program is a one year commitment designed to give residents opportunities in evidence-based disease state management; patient, family, and medical staff education; medication safety and outcomes-based research. Education is provided in an integrated health system with training experiences including internal medicine, critical care, nephrology, pediatrics, and infectious disease.

An individualized training plan based on the resident’s baseline level of knowledge, skills, and interest will be developed at the start of the year. Along with clinical activities, residents will be required to staff in the central pharmacy and complete a research project and teaching certificate.
