Do you provide students with interviews at Central Residency Interview Process (CRIP)?
Yes.
What do you look for in a resident?
We are looking for a well-rounded and mature individual who has the ability to work independently, but more importantly, thrives on being part of a team with faculty and co-residents. We require passage of Part I and II of the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, as well as United States citizenship or permanent residency in the United States.
Does this program offer an externship?
Unfortunately, our program does not offer an externship for students at this time.
How do you schedule a visit?
We highly encourage potential applicants to visit the program to see all that it has to offer. During your visit, you will spend time in the office and tour the hospital, as we truly believe it is the best way to see firsthand what the program has to offer. You will meet the people you will work with and determine if it's the right fit for you. We understand that it might be difficult for students to visit, due to conflicts with school rotation schedules, but we will work with you to make arrangements that fit your schedule. Please call 312-770-3801 to schedule a visit.
Do you accept applicants from all the podiatric colleges?
Yes, we do.
Does the program provide support for educational expenses?
The hospital provides a Continuing Medical Education stipend of $500 available to second- and third-year residents for educational expenses, such as conferences, books and review courses. In addition, each incoming first-year resident is provided a PDA.
