Radiography Program

The radiographer fills an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by assisting radiologists and producing images that visualize and record human anatomy. Radiologists are physicians who specialize in the use of x-rays to diagnosis and treat disease and traumatic injury. Radiographers perform x-ray examinations of the skeletal, respiratory, circulatory, nervous and digestive systems--- using their knowledge of patient care, biological effects of radiation, radiation protection, anatomy, physiology, physics, positioning and radiographic technique.

Sonography Program

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at Ascension St. Vincent’s In Jacksonville, Florida has both academic and clinical practice components. This comprehensive 22-month program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS). The program provides graduates with the necessary eligibility requirements to qualify for examination by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Graduates receive a certificate upon program completion.

Cardiovascular Technology Program

The Cardiovascular Technology Program at Ascension St. Vincent’s In Jacksonville, Florida has both academic and clinical practice components. This comprehensive 18-month program allows for students to learn procedures performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. The program provides graduates with the necessary eligibility requirements to qualify for examination by the Cardiac Credentialing International, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. Graduates receive a certificate upon program completion.
