Program Structure

Ascension St. Vincent Surgical Technology Program students learn and practice their lab skills in an functioning operating room.  Students gain patient-focused, hands-on experiences in a wide variety of surgical procedures. Ascension St. Vincent is a level one trauma center for adults and pediatrics, the acuity of patients and surgical procedures are more complex, giving students the opportunity to learn a variety of procedures. With over 30 operating rooms - there is always a chance to learn. Students have the opportunity to scrub into a case with one of our many DaVinci Robots, scrub a spinal fusion using our navigation systems, look through a Kinevo microscope and watch a brain aneurysm be clipped, scrub into kidney transplant and so many more procedures and opportunities!
