Amanda Hasty, DPM

Hometown: Cicero, IN
Undergraduate: Indiana University Bloomington 
Podiatry School: Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery
 
Dr. Hasty was born and raised in Cicero, IN. She completed her undergraduate studies at Indiana University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, IA. 
 
Dr. Hasty always knew that she wanted a career as a physician and a surgeon, but it wasn't until shadowing a podiatrist that she knew she had found her career path. After shadowing and exploring multiple specialties, some of the things that drew her to podiatry were the hands-on nature of the profession, balance of surgery and clinic, and the ability to develop a relationship with patients as you help them to get back on their feet. 
 
Dr. Hasty is thrilled to be at Ascension St. Vincent to complete her residency. When she was here rotating as a student, it was easy to see that the resident and faculty group here really are a family, not just co-workers and she is excited to be a part of this family.
 
In her spare time, Dr. Hasty enjoys spending time on the lake, hanging out with family, friends and her dog, Graham, as well as going to the gym and exploring local cuisine. 

Elyse Hoy, DPM

Hometown: Greenwood, IN
Undergraduate: Franklin College, Franklin, IN
Podiatry School: Dr. William M. Scholl College of Pediatric Medicine, North Chicago, IL

Dr. Hoy completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Arts in major in Biology from Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. She also completed a Master’s in Biomedical Science at Marian University in Indianapolis before receiving her doctorate from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL.

Dr. Hoy is a proud Hoosier who is excited to continue her medical training back at home in Indiana. In her spare time, she enjoys being out in nature, exercising, trying cool new restaurants, and watching IndyCar Racing.


Zachary Hulst, DPM

Hometown: Grand Rapids, MI
Undergraduate: Hope College, Holland, MI
Podiatry School: Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine
 
Dr. Hulst completed his undergraduate education at Hope College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Dr. Hulst then went on to complete his podiatric medical school education at William M Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL. 
 
In his spare time, Dr. Hulst enjoys spending time with his wife, Taryn, playing pickleball, golf, and watching sports.

Ashlee Mackens, DPM

Hometown: Phoenix, AZ
Undergraduate: Arizona State University
Podiatry School: Midwestern University- Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine

Dr. Mackens completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science major in Biological Sciences with an emphasis on cells, genetics, and developmental science and a minor in Sociology. She later attended podiatry school and graduated from Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Mackens enjoys hiking, pickleball, hosting friends, baking, and eating good food.

Tierra Binder, DPM

Hometown: Detroit, MI

Undergraduate: Earlham College

Podiatry School: Rosalind Franklin University - The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine 

Dr. Binder completed her undergraduate education at Earlham College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. During this time, she took a keen interest in organic chemistry, research, art history, and competed in intercollegiate athletics. She later earned her doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL. 

Dr. Binder is a proud native of Detroit, MI and developed an early passion for medicine through her experiences assisting in the care of her brother who has Autism and Cerebral Palsy. The ability to combine sports medicine, diabetic limb salvage, and care to individuals with neuromuscular disorders led her to pursue a career in foot and ankle surgery. 

In her free time, Dr. Binder enjoys coaching girls basketball, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family/friends.




Damien Correa, DPM


Hometown: Gilbert, Arizona

Undergraduate: Northern Arizona University

Podiatry School: Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University


Dr. Correa was born in Chicago, but raised in Gilbert, Arizona. He completed his undergraduate degree at Northern Arizona University where he achieved his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Correa then went on to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Az. His interests in podiatric medicine and surgery include Trauma, Reconstructive surgery, Limb Salvage and Sports Medicine. Dr. Correa is excited to be continuing his education and surgical training at Ascension St. Vincent, he enjoys the supportive environment that it provides and is excited to learn from some of the best in the profession. In his free time, Dr. Correa enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, and playing a round of golf.


Savannah Santiago, DPM


Hometown: San Diego, CA

Undergraduate:  University of Colorado Colorado Springs

Podiatry School: Western University of Health Sciences


Dr. Savannah Santiago is a second-year podiatry resident at  Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis. A California native, she was born and raised in sunny San Diego. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where she was also a collegiate athlete competing in cross country and track and field.

Before beginning podiatry school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, Dr. Santiago worked as a Spanish-language medical translator, deepening her understanding of healthcare accessibility and patient communication. She later arned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Western University.Outside of medicine, Dr. Santiago enjoys spending time outdoors and cherishing moments with loved ones. Whether hiking, running, exploring farmers’ markets, or tending to her ever-growing collection of plants.


 

 Peter Sorensen, DPM, MHA 

 

 Hometown: St. George, UT 

 Undergraduate: Southern Utah University 

 Podiatry School: Des Moines University - College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery


Dr. Sorensen was the first of five children born into an Air Force family, growing up in five different states before relocating to Santiago, Chile, where he graduated high school before his family relocated to southern Utah. He first became interested in podiatry when he broke his ankle and had reparative surgery. Dr. Sorensen completed a Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish at Southern Utah University, after which he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Master's of Healthcare Administration degrees concurrently from Des Moines University. Dr. Sorensen is interested in reconstructive surgery and clinical podiatric medicine, as well as healthcare legislation and policy. He loved his month at Ascension St. Vincent as a student, and is beyond excited to be working with one of the best teams in the field for the next three years. In his free time, Dr. Sorensen enjoys mountain biking, reading, playing piano, and most importantly spending time with his wife and two children.

Sahil Amin, DPM, MHA


Hometown: Enola, PA

Undergraduate: Penn State University

Podiatry School: Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine


Dr. Sahil Amin was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on Genetic Development and a Master’s of Health Administration at Penn State University. Dr. Amin earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Amin's interests in podiatric medicine include reconstructive surgery and trauma. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys a variety of hobbies such as archery, spending time with friends and family, exercising, reading and writing, playing drums and guitar, hiking, and biking.


Rachel Dobrozsi, DPM

 

Hometown: Cincinnati, OH

Undergraduate: East Tennessee University

Podiatry School: Des Moines University


Dr. Rachel Dobrozsi, DPM, is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. Her early experiences in patient care and community service ignited her passion for medicine. She later moved to the mountains of Tennessee, where she earned her B.S. in Human Sciences from East Tennessee State University. Subsequently, she obtained her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines.

University where she was actively involved in research and enjoyed working as a teaching assistant. While in school, Dr. Dobrozsi also dedicated time to community outreach by volunteering with organizations such as Girls on the Run and Remote Area Medical, working to promote health, education, and confidence in underserved populations as well as local youth. Her clinical interests encompass reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, limb salvage, and pediatrics, all rooted in a deep commitment to compassionate, individualized, patient-centered care. 

Excited to continue her training at Ascension St. Vincent’s in Indianapolis, Dr. Dobrozsi was particularly drawn to the program’s strong sense of collaboration, high surgical standards, and commitment to resident development. Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, exercising, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and their two energetic dogs.


Nathan Jackson, DPM 


Hometown: Cameron, MO 

Undergraduate: University of Saint Mary Medical School: 

Podiatry School: Des Moines University-College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery 


Dr. Jackson was born and raised in northwestern Missouri. He completed his undergraduate career at the University of Saint Mary, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology as well as psychology. During his undergraduate career, he also competed in intercollegiate cross country and track and field. He then earned his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Jackson first became interested in podiatry after sustaining multiple fractures in his foot from long distance running which was further complicated by a neurological condition and personally experienced the need for quality foot and ankle physicians. His medical interests include reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma, sports medicine, limb salvage, and podiatric medical research and innovation. Dr. Jackson is excited to train in an environment that is rigorous, yet supportive, and to become part of the tight-knit family that is characteristic among ASVI’s podiatric residents and attendings. He looks forward to the opportunity to gain experience under attendings who are thought leaders in the field of podiatric medicine and surgery. In his free time, you will find Dr. Jackson running and training for his next big race. He also enjoys swimming, biking, watching sports, and spending time with his friends and family. His favorite quote is by Thomas Edison: “Of the 200 light bulbs that didn’t work, every failure told me something that I was able to incorporate into the next attempt.” 



Zach Laughlin, DPM


Hometown: Minneapolis, MN

Undergraduate: University of Minnesota

Podiatry School: Des Moines University


Dr. Zach Laughlin was born and raised in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota, earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, before going on to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University. Dr. Laughlin's areas of interest in podiatric medicine and surgery include reconstructive surgery for limb deformities, particularly Charcot reconstruction, ankle arthroplasty, trauma, limb salvage, and arthroscopy. He is excited to continue his education and surgical training at Ascension St. Vincent, where he is inspired by the drive, knowledge, and compassion of the attendings and residents, as well as the strong, tight-knit culture the program has fostered. In his free time, Dr. Laughlin enjoys spending time with his wife and friends, hiking, playing with his cats, running, and traveling whenever the opportunity arises.
