Salary and Benefits

  • House staff are paid on a biweekly basis; each pay period covers two weeks (14 days) beginning on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday.
  • Salary Schedule for Academic Year – (2026-2027). 
    Note that these salaries may differ from what is listed in the House Staff Manual. 
    The salaries listed on this webpage are specific to the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital (Evansville) Internal Medicine Residency. 
    All other benefits listed in the House Staff Manual will be the same. 

    PGY-1: $67,616
    PGY-2: $68,672
    PGY-3: $70,997 
  • Ascension also provides additional funding via a Choice Spending Account which can be used for reimbursement of expenses associated with education (such as books, journals, professional membership fees, computers, phones, educational software, conferences, and other expenses approved by the Program Director).

    PGY-3 - PGY-7: $2,400 

      • Benefit information, including options and cost, will be provided to all new residents prior to and at orientation. Benefits are effective on the first date of employment
