Why choose us?

Patient population

The patient population that receives obstetrics and gynecologic care from the faculty with participation from the residents represents a broad spectrum of the Chicagoland community. Though primarily middle-income, there is a broad range of populations served. Some faculty members attract referred patients from throughout the metropolitan area and suburbs, which account for some of the more complicated cases. The patient population provides a variety of problems with a full range of potential experience.

Teaching

The qualified and committed teaching faculty members at our main campus are quite active in didactic and clinical teaching. Three other affiliated institutions (Ascension Saint Mary - Chicago, Thorek Hospital and Weiss Hospital) are utilized to complement residents' experience and skills in various aspects of gynecology and allow for early surgical experience.

Our faculty members are committed to providing an interactive and collegial environment for learning. Our teaching model includes bedside teaching, strong didactic teaching and boardroom teaching, all of which allow immediate feedback and graded responsibilities.

Research

We support and promote clinical research. The program assists, directs and coordinates research activities with the residents. Research is mandatory; all residents have a research project. During the last two academic years, many of our residents' have presented papers at local and national meetings including ACOG and AAGL.
