Criteria and Qualifications

Traditionally, successful candidates have graduated from medical school within the preceding five years and have scores of at least 240 on Step II, with no more than one attempt for each exam including the passing attempt. Still, there are no strict criteria for selection, and each application is reviewed on its own merit.

Review and Acceptance Process

Applications are accepted and reviewed from the mid-September through the end of October each year. Initial review of individual applications begins prior to receipt of all required application documents. However, an applicant cannot be considered for an interview unless a complete application has been received by the  deadline.

After receiving applications through ERAS, the Review Committee scrutinizes each application and selects individuals that qualify for interviews. Applicants who are selected to interview are sent invitations only via email.

Interviews are conducted from early November through late January of each year. Interview dates are available to invited candidates on a first come, first served basis. However, a waiting list is maintained for all dates and sometimes interview slots become available on dates that have been previously filled. Interview days consist of individual interviews with faculty members, attendance at department educational conferences and a resident-guided tour of our facilities.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

ERAS applications are due no later than November 1
