A message from our Program Director
The St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency Program exists for two reasons — to provide superior education and training for family medicine residents and to give our patients the best possible medical care. We prepare our residents to succeed in the practice locations they will eventually choose, from urban to rural, and to be ready for leadership roles in their communities. St. Vincent's has graduated skilled, successful, compassionate physicians since the program began in 1972. I believe the key to our success is the commitment of our faculty and staff to excellence in education and patient care. The faculty members devote substantial time to enhancing their own teaching skills and are dedicated to helping residents grow professionally and personally into fine family physicians. The residency program benefits from affiliations with Ascension, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Florida State University, Nova Southeastern University and the University of Florida. In addition to Family Medicine faculty, the program has full time faculty in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN Clinical Psychology, Pathology and Dermatology. Our faculty has a wide range of interests from Hospital Medicine to Integrative Medicine, which allows our residents to take advantage of superb educational opportunities and further refine their own professional goals. You are about to make a decision that will influence the rest of your life. I hope this information about our program will help you discover the atmosphere of teamwork and professionalism we strive to create. I invite you to consider training at the St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency Program.
